Trailer for The Day The Earth Stood Still.
Trailer for the remake of the classic 50's film starring Keanu Reeves. I'm curious to see how much they changed it. The original is very interesting but fairly slow. The title event is only a couple minutes of the film. The trailer for the new version shows they have obviously amped up the action a lot. Keanu should be good in this, it's the kind of role he seems to be able to do.

this movie actually looks pretty cool (which is pretty rare considering it's keany reeves - one of the worst actors to make it big). i was so happy to see Jon Hamm in the trailer... i think i've only ever seen him in Mad Men, but that's such a good show!
I haven't seen the original movie, but this one sounds interesting. ;-)
I remember viewing this film just a few years ago. I half-expected an action sci-fi movie but was pleasantly surprised to find a deep story told through the family's ordeals.
It looks like the remake [imdb.com] will follow the original short story, Farewell To The Master [thenostalgialeague.com], more closely than the earlier film[imdb.com].
