Poster of the week - Quantum of Solace.

The title of the next James Bond movie is interesting if a bit unwieldy. The poster I think is one of the best I've seen. It's very simple with little text. I'm willing to bet most people would know it's a James Bond poster even without seeing the title.

SWEET POSTER!

Horrible title though for the new James Bond movie. I'm a pretty big movie junkie myself.

I like your blog. All about movies. 2007 was a pretty great movie year, agree, disagree?

I'm new to blogger actually. If you like feel free to check out my blog

But then again, the poster could just have well had ‘T4’ at the bottom and people would have immediately thought they were going to see a ‘Terminator’ movie!

Not a very ‘Bondian’ image in my opinion, but a good eye-catching poster nonetheless.

I am definitely not a fan of the Bond franchise (although I have watched all of them since the Brosnan era). And even the overrated Casino Royale was incapable of making me view the franchise favourably. While I liked the posters for that movie, I must say this one is all the more classy. I think the whole 'less is more' lesson has been forgotten in Hollywood, and it's refreshing to see such an understated poster for such a massive movie.

As for the title, my thought, as was everyone else's, I guess, upon hearing it was: WHAT? Soon after the title was revealed, I remember reading an interview with Daniel Craig where he says: "So this title is meant to confuse a little. It's meant to make you wonder, and that's what we want -- we want people thinking as they come into the film." I guess it worked.

There's only one reason I think this movie may be better than the others. And that's Marc Forster. Love that guy.

I'm not sure about the T4 bit. It's fairly obvious he's wearing a suit as opposed to a bulky leather jacket.

i disagree with the specific T4 point, but i see how it could be interpreted as something else... maybe the more traditional pp7 pistol could have been a bigger giveaway - but that's not the direction the renewed franchise is taking, so it makes sense to have it this way. i like it. it's classy.
