Al Pacino and Robert De Niro together in a cop film?
There's a bit of buzz about this film as it features two heavyweight actors. The new trailer is below. It looks interesting but nothing special. Hopefully I'm wrong.
i am ashamed to say i have yet to see the previous pacino de niro collaborations (godfathers, heat) ... i know, i'm a skid mark on society's underwear. look away.
but i fear to say you're absolutely right: looks like nothing special - like nothing we've never seen before. and i can't take any movie that has 50 cent -sorry... curtis jackson- seriously.
also... what happened to these two fine actors? this decade de niro has been in some cute comedies... but what of his amazing 'raging bull' or 'taxi driver' acting? and pacino - i'll give him 'angels in america' and 'simone' (because i love andrew niccol) ... but what else has he done lately? (apart from movies of the highest standards, such as 'gigli' or 'ocean's thirteen'.)
here's to hoping this movie is better than it looked (like 'we own the night' - the comparison seemed inevitable when i saw the design of the actors' names in the trailer... little buildings in the back and all).
