This was one of those weeks I was faced with a hard to make choice. These films were available.
The Ruins- horror movies don't work at Western Film.
Stop-Loss-
I had to choose between these last two for the late show. It was one of those no-way-to-know decisions. Stop-Loss was higher profile with some popular stars but was about Iraq and didn't do great first-run. The Bank Job was low profile but had Jason Statham. I finally decided on Bank Job because it had played for longer than I expected first-run in London so it must have done well. I also checked and Bank Job had grossed $30 million and Stop-Loss had only done $10 million. Grosses aren't always a good guide at Western Film but these movies were similar enough.
The Diving Bell and the Butterfly is already booked for the following week. It will be the early show. If nothing else is available Stop-Loss will be the late show.

like i said in an earlier post: i'm counting on natalie portman to make boleyn worth my while...
as for bank job - it got better reviews than i expected, so i suppose it's worth taking a look.
for the following week i won't be here, and it seems like two pretty solid movies will be playing. i've said earlier that i've been dying to watch diving bell for quite some time now. as for stop loss, it didn't get great reviews but boys don't cry was pretty good, so i guess it should be alright. plus i like ryan philippe (not sure why).
i didn't know where else to post this, but i know you're an appreciator of good posters. the new dark knight one is SOLID. check it:

the name the site gave it is a bit much but you are correct about the poster being very cool.
last night i watched the bank job, and while it's one of the better heist movies out there, i'm just getting tired of them. they're just so formulaic. i think the genre needs a breath of fresh air immediately (think 'inside man').
and jason statham needs to learn how to play a different part than the one he's been doing since lock, stock.
just got back from the other boleyn girl.
oddly, eric bana didn't suck (which is his trademark).
natalie portman was good.
scarlett johansson was absolutely terrible, it seems as though the accent sucked away what little talent she has. also, i'm usually not a fan of her looks, but in this movie she was positively hideous. so she had NOTHING going for her.
the movie itself, however, was better than expected...
